Entrepreneurs start up businesses for many different reasons. Perhaps you don’t like working for others and want a way to guarantee you are your own boss. You might do something so well that you feel others will value it and feel you can make a better living devoting your time to what you do best. You might see a need and decide that you can fill it. There are many more reasons, and they are all honourable and worthwhile. But in the end, no matter what your reasons are for starting your business, you still have to eat, and in order to do that, you have to make sales.
Sales are tricky, because people both love and despise spending their money. We’ve all felt the satisfaction of purchasing something new, or the sense of reward when we enjoy something acquired by our hard earned dollars. We’ve all also felt the anxiety that can come with buying anything, including groceries and essential services. Can I afford this? Will this product do what it’s supposed to do? Am I getting a good deal? Will I regret this? These are your customers, and you must not only reach them, but convince them that you are worth trusting with their money, and that your product or service will enhance their lives.
That’s what this blog is about. I will be sharing everything I know, everything I have learned in my years of promoting my business, and of course, everything I continue to learn about marketing YOUR business. This blog is primarily for small and medium sized local business owners, but it will also offer insights to everyone who needs to market what they do. Nothing will be sold on this blog. It is about free information to help businesses make better marketing choices. Much of what I will share will be business philosophy, as well as free tips for reaching your consumers and attracting them to your website or place of work. I hope that this knowledge will help you grow your business and save you money. Welcome to my blog.
